The Department of the Interior (DOI) serves to manage the Nation’s natural resources and cultural heritage; provides scientific and other information about those resources; and honors its trust responsibilities or special commitments to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and affiliated Island Communities. The Department’s budget ensures the operation of the Fish and Wildlife Service, Indian Affairs, National Park Service, U.S. Geological Survey and Bureau of Land Management amongst many other organizations.

The office is in the final planning stage of consolidating from 3 occupied buildings at the Denver Federal Center (Buildings 40, 50 and 53) to 2 occupied buildings (Buildings 50 and 53). Four hundred seventy three National Operations Center (NOC) BLM employees occupy these General Services Administration (GSA) owned buildings on the Denver Federal Center. Remodel of Building 50 and consolidation of Building 40 has begun.

US Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Office in Carlsbad, California Consolidation

The Carlsbad Fish and Wildlife Office, located in heavily populated San Diego County, CA, has recently consolidated into a new GSA space for a staff of 80 Ecological Services employees. The new location, which replaces a 37,000 square foot space, applies the new utilization standard and was entered into as a cost savings measure.

Bureau of Indian Affairs Regional Office Billings, MT Consolidation

This action is a result of several years of planning and coordination between Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Regional Office and Office of Justice Services (OJS), Office of Special Trustee (OST), the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the GSA. It is a major consolidation of four Federal agencies to one site. Six individual BIA spaces were consolidated into two spaces composed of office and warehouse space.?The six original spaces totaled 75k RSF. ?The new combined consolidated office and warehouse spaces total 71.2k RSF, which is a reduction of 5% in footprint. The Bureau of Indian Affair?BIA collocated with BOR, OST and the Solicitor's Office in the new space.
